Job Description:

As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and governance of our data. You will develop and enforce data policies, oversee data quality, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Your role will be pivotal in driving data initiatives that support our business objectives and enhance decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Quality Management: Implement and oversee processes for data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

• Data Stewardship: Assign and manage data stewards across the organization, ensuring adherence to data policies and resolving data issues.

• Policy Development: Develop, implement, and enforce data policies and standards to govern data access, sharing, usage, and protection.

• Data Architecture: Design and maintain a data framework that ensures efficient data collection, storage, processing, and access.

• Compliance and Security: Ensure data handling practices comply with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and implement robust security measures to protect data.

• Lifecycle Management: Manage data throughout its lifecycle, ensuring proper archiving and deletion practices.

• Metadata Management: Oversee the management of metadata to provide context and improve data usability.

• Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role within the retail industry.

• Strong understanding of data quality management, data stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience with data architecture, data lifecycle management, and metadata management.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies.
