As a Data Governance Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of their data governance strategies, ensuring the accuracy, security and accessibility of their invaluable data assets. Your Role:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define and implement cutting-edge data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

• Lead the charge to maintain and enhance data quality, using advanced data cleansing, enrichment, and validation techniques.

• Manage metadata like a pro by capturing, documenting, and updating data lineage, definitions, and relationships.

• Utilise your expertise in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, IBM InfoSphere) to establish data governance workflows, data dictionaries, and data classification.

• Provide your invaluable expertise and guidance on data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.

• Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulations.

• Work closely with IT teams to align data governance practices with technical implementations, data architecture, and data integration processes.

• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous enhancement.

• Contribute to data governance education and training programs for business users to promote understanding and adoption.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: A minimum of 4+ years in Data Governance, with a focus on Metadata management and data quality.

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or a related field.

• Hands-On Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

• Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one data governance tool (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, IBM InfoSphere, etc.).

• Bonus Points: Familiarity with other areas of data management (e.g., data integration, master data management).

• Regulatory Savvy: Strong understanding of data governance principles, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, including GDPR and PDPL.

• Detail-Oriented: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Team Player: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and departments.

• Initiative Taker: Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and resolving data governance issues.

• Certifications: Relevant certifications in data governance or data management are a plus.
