We sat down with our new team member Ayoub and learned a little more about him...
Hey Ayoub, tell us a little about yourself.
Hey, my name is Ayoub, I'm 24 and from London!
Growing up, I played academy-level football for the likes of Tottenham and West Ham, then moved on to pursuing more of an academic route (Arab Father), and studying Medicine for a couple of years.
How have I ended up in recruitment you ask? I love sales, talking to people, helping people and am very extroverted... What better industry to be in!
I am very passionate about Product, the Gym, football and love learning about new cultures.
Thailand has got to be my favourite holiday destination!
What made you move to Dubai?
Four things:
1. The weather, there's an endless summer here.
2. My background: My Mother is Irish and my Father is Lebanese, I think Dubai compliments my background very well in the sense that it has the Arab traditions, language and culture but is also quite westernised.
3. Earning potential: a tax-free income incentivises me to work even harder.
4. Work hard, play hard lifestyle: in the week people are non-stop and focussed. The weekend however, is all about Beach clubs, runs, Brunches, football tournaments and everything else!
Why did you choose Discovered?
Discovered were everywhere on social media; the brand speaks for itself.
The state-of-the-art website, autonomy, flexible working arrangements and company incentives played a huge role.
Combine that with two co-founders who seemed very involved in the team, always have the time of day for you and had an abundance of regional experience; I was sold.
What does the future look like?
Bright, very bright.
In a couple of years, I want to manage and nurture a team of Product consultants, taking them under my wing and showing them the ropes!
My family business lies in real estate, so property investment is inevitable.
I don't see myself leaving Dubai, so I aspire to bring my kids up here and enjoy every moment this beautiful city offers.
